Our Story

Emily Faith Charitable Organization is named in honor of our daughter, Emily Faith Joy Banwarie, who was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. Her brief life spanned three days in the hospital before she passed away during surgery.  Although we grieve for her, we find comfort in knowing that she doesn’t have to be in pain anymore and one day we will reunite with her.

Our pain has pushed into a unique purpose. We have a unique opportunity to be a source of encouragement to others in similar situations. It is our honor to provide tangible gifts as a way to show our love and care for others – especially children in developing countries.

How We Operate

Emily Faith Charitable Organization is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in South Carolina formed with the purpose of engaging in charitable activities directed towards children and families who live in underprivileged communities.

Our nonprofit is operated by a Board of Directors who are all volunteers. There are no paid staff members. We receive monetary donations through gifts of supporters and friends, and clothing from our donation collection in Simpsonville, SC. All of our donations are for administrative and logistical costs. Most of our operational costs go directly into shipping and handling fees for our barrels from the USA to Guyana, South America.

The Board of Directors meet to discuss and plan the calendar of events and status of each program. Volunteers from educational and religious organization help us to sort and pack all donated items when we are ready to begin packing.

Thank you for joining us on this journey to make our world a better a place, and share hope and love to those who need it.
