Fall for Girls

Girls Home1

We have “adopted” a girls’ orphanage in Guyana, South America and send several barrels packed with goodies for the girls at Christmastime. These Christmas gifts will offer valuable reminders to the girls, many of whom come from traumatized backgrounds, that they are thought about and loved.

About the Hauraruni Girls’ Home

Located away from the city in a quiet forested community, the Hauraruni Girls’ Home exists for providing the atmosphere, activities, and experiences that will contribute towards the spiritual, psychological, social, emotional, and physical development of less fortunate girls, resulting in their becoming useful and productive members of society.

The Hauraruni Girls’ Home is a place of refuge for many young girls who have been neglected and/or abused. The Home is owned by the Full Gospel Fellowship Inc., Guyana, but works in collaboration with, and under the supervision of the Child Care & Protection Agency of the Ministry of Human Services & Social Security (A Ministry of the Government of Guyana).

The home has the capacity to house up to twenty-five girls in this nurturing environment. The house parent and staff have been doing a fantastic job in caring for the girls and are also trained to provide counseling in addition to meeting the girls’ physical needs.

Monetary Donations

Your monetary contribution would go towards covering shipping expenses. Each barrel costs approximately $300 to ship to Guyana (inclusive of customs and duty, and freight charges to the community). Click here for more information on how to donate.
